I generally use the dyndns url just because. I also have a no-ip free account which works well too. My old free account keeps working fine and I haven't had any issues with it. I have noticed that dyndns doesn't seem to allow new free accounts. Router works great just doesn't have the email feature on it. I looked at loading third party firmware but none seem to be compatible. No, router is a linksys vpn router that runs linksys firmware. It also should have done an update after I fixed the password. Granted, I had the wrong password in there, but it shouldn't have told me it successfully updated. I ended up manually updating dyndns using their web-portal.Īll in all, I am not terribly impressed with xep's handling of the situation. But my current IP was not what dyndns had. Also, once I fixed the password and hit "Test", it said that it did not update because it hadn't changed. I guess I chnaged it and forgot to update the xep.īut, my concern is that Elk sent me an email stating the update was successful when it was not! What's up with that? When I hit the "test" button in the xep it gave me errors until I fixed the password. I checked my xep settings and it turns out the password for dyndns was wrong. ![]() It changed yesterday and Elk sent me an email that it had changed and then another telling me it successfully updated dyndns. My ip changes very rarely, I think my prior address might have been a year old or more. I have the xep setup to report changes to dyndns. I have seen reports that you cannot leap updates, but not encountered the problem myself for some time (applies to old firmware of older models). Step 8: Browse to and select the digicap.dav file in your C:// drive Step 7: Click the Browse button at the right-hand side. Step 6: Scroll to the bottom of the screen you’ll see Upgrade Firmware. Step 5: Login and navigate to Config -> Maintenance (screenshot attached below) Step 4: Browse to your NVR, camera, etc - using Internet Explorer: Step 3: Copy that digicap.dav file to your PC’s root folder e.g. Step 2: Extract the digicap.dav file (which is the actual firmware file) from the zipped file you downloaded. Step 1: Download the latest HikVision firmware to your PC. Here's how to upgrade your HikVision camera or NVR to the latest firmware version in just nine simple steps: Method used to install: Installed via web browser, the most recent firmware version, when it did not work, I installed the older versions of the available fimware until I reached the current one. Would anyone know if I need any specific procedure for the update to actually be applied? No hik-connect option was added in the menus, and hiddns continue to appear in the options.ĭVR_KN33_KN35_N20_EUROPEAN-ML_STD_V3.1.6_build170613.zip The firmware apparently remains the same, apparently it just updated the version shown on the device. I recently upgraded it with a firmware available, which according to hickvision's realease notes "Conventional SD DVR deletes Hiddns and IP Server function, newly supported Hik-Connect."īut when updating via WEB browser, none of this happened. ![]() I have a hikvision 7208HVI-SH DVR, which came with a very old software, version 2.12, which did not support hik-connect technology. If anyone could help me, i would be very grateful. Unfortunately, I'm having a problem with a dvr hickvision device, and I have not managed to find a solution.
